Symposium overview
The 2027 National Orthopaedic Symposium is a national conference dedicated to advancing orhtopaedic physiotherapy practice, education, and research in Canada. The symposium will bring together clinicians, researchers, educators, trainees, and decision-makers to share innovation, evidence, and best practices in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy.
Symposium content
The symposium will highlight research, clinical practice, education, and profesionnal issues related to musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy, including professionnal issue and management of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, cross-cutting expertise such as pain science and sports medecine, special populations, and professional practice.

Call for Papers – Oral and Poster Presentations, Pre- and Post-Symposium Courses
Location : Montréal, Québec, Canada
Dates : April 23-25, 2027
Types of presentations
- Oral or poster presentation with explicit practice implications :
a. Poster: including very short (3 min) oral presentation of some posters
b. Oral presentation: between 7 and 15 minutes with Q&A - Integrated podium/panel presentation (clinician-researcher-patient format)
Panel presentation will involve 2-3 speakers and will be of 45 minutes total, including the period of Q&A from the audience. - Pre- and post- symposium courses (half-day ot full day)
Course formats
a. Half-day workshops (3-4 hours) : focused skills training, workshops, or interactive seminars.
b. Full-day courses (6-8 hours) : in-depth skills mastery, blended lectures and hands-on practice, or multi-module sessions.
Students’ abstract category and awards
A dedicated student abstract category is available for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. Awards will be presented for best student presentations
